TO NEVER RETURN

alone in the ice and the methane snow
i stare at the sun and it’s distant glow
and remember the earth from so long ago
to never return
from the wars of destruction that are raging there still
we escaped from the chaos by the strength of our will
we once killed each other now it’s time that we kill
to never return
as the others lay starving i hear a voice
a sound deep in my head i don’t have a choice
i must listen and learn i will follow these words
and never return
oh earth what have you done
your oceans are boiling you’ve blotted the sun
my planet earth where have you gone
