Maisy Day Handspun is made from scratch by me, Sarah Ivy Kincaid. I hand dye all my fibers, and spin them up on my trusty wheels, an Ashford Kiwi and two Kromskis, a Minstrel and Sonata.
I’m very inspired by nature, which is where many of my color schemes and names come from. I live with my husband and a large animal menagerie which consists of dogs, a cat, chickens and Pygora goats. We are very interested in sustainable living, and enjoy organic gardening and fresh eggs from our hens.
Behind our small homestead is a large acreage of forestland full of old logging roads, and perfect for hiking and taking in new ideas for the dyepot.
My yarns are one of kind, never to be recreated. All yarns are thoroughly washed and air dried, and every step in their creation is handled with great care by me personally.
Oh, and you may be wondering who exactly Maisy might be. Miss Maisy Day is my steadfast companion, our Australian Shepherd, and when it came to naming my yarn she seemed like the perfect mascot. She sniff tests and approves all yarns before they are put up for sale.
Thank you for stopping by, and if you have any comments or questions about Maisy Day Handspun, feel free to email me, I’d love to hear from you!
